Moodle: Summer school pre-service training. An introduction to activity leading

Course two: An introduction to activity leading.

Structure:

  • A welcome forum allowing everyone to introduce themselves and say where they’ll be working and what they’ll be doing.
  • Structured input on the product/ key features of each role.
  • Specific input: text.
  • Forums to give a voice and allow collaboration between participants.
  • Case studies:
    • Role specific input via animated explainer videos with AI voiceovers.
    • Question prompts and opportunities for participants to discuss ideas and problems from the input in forums.
  • End of course quiz.
  • Certificate of course completion.
  • End of course feedback questionnaire.

Activity Leaders are employed to lead onsite activities and offsite excursions. The basis of this course revolves around a series of animated explainer videos in the form of two case studies – one for onsite activities and the other offsite excursions.

Case study: An introduction is followed by video input.
Case study: An Activity Leader’s worst nightmare.
Case study: following the initial input, participant ideas are consolidate via a forum.
Case study: final input is given to analyse behaviours in the first video.
Case study: An Activity Leader’s worst nightmare. Explained.
