Lesson: Vocabulary (hot and cold)

Here is a vocabulary lesson, aimed at intermediate and above learners of English, which revolves around vocabulary to describe weather conditions.

The aim is to extend a learner’s lexical set beyond words such as ‘hot’ and ‘cold’. The lesson introduces the target language through a game of call my bluff before moving onto snakes and ladders to allow an opportunity to personalise the language. The final exercise allows learners to extended their speaking and give peer feedback.
