There are three roles which are typically office based: the Welfare Officer, the Halls Manager, and the Centre Manager. Given the timeframe I had to create these courses, it was understood from the outset that I wouldn’t have had enough time to create bespoke materials for all roles. As these three positions somewhat overlap, materials have been combined into one training course even if they would naturally be divided into distinct sections if time had permitted this to happen. In the absence of a Halls Manager, the role falls to the Welfare Officer. Similarly, the Centre Manager needs to understand what a Welfare Manager does in their absence1.

Like with Activity Managers, Halls Managers, and Welfare Officers benefit from seeing their role framed in ‘a week in the life of’ series, with key information on their specific roles. Similarly, optional lessons, dealing with key office systems, are offered to allow those who are interested a head start in understanding important features of their roles prior to any face-to-face training.

- The Centre Manager should be competent enough to take over from any manager, but this is more apparent when it comes to rooming and welfare. ↩︎
